Development of the Kittilä church village, 2019
The aim of this design work has been to brainstorm and design the most central areas of the Kittilä parish in such a way that they increase the area's comfort and attractiveness from the perspective of the area's residents and tourists.
The planning area is roughly limited to the most central areas of Kittilä parish between the Sodankyläntie intersection and the Ylläksentie intersection. The plan includes ideas for the area's land use, handling of green areas and lighting. In addition, concept plans have been drawn up for the market square, the Karinnokka area and the beach. In addition, ideas have been drawn up for the use of smart technology in the urban area. The initial material for the work has been the views of the area's residents and entrepreneurs on the development needs of Kittilä city centre, collected by the municipality of Kittilä. The planning work has been prepared as a basis for the revision and expansion of the local plan.
